About The Position

The Senior Accountant is responsible for the accurate and timely execution of core general ledger accounting activities, month-end close, account reconciliations, and internal financial reporting. This role partners closely with others to ensure the integrity of Keel’s financial records across multiple entities and manufacturing locations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance preferred
  • Strong working knowledge of U.S. GAAP and the ability to apply accounting principles to multi-entity, manufacturing-environment transactions
  • Excellent problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills with the ability to work across functions
  • Solid understanding of basic accounting principles and procedures
  • Experience with month-end close, audit support, and internal controls
  • Hands-on experience with ERP systems
  • Advanced Excel skills
  • Experience preparing consolidated financial statements and footnote disclosures under U.S. GAAP

Responsibilities

  • Own assigned areas of the month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close, including preparation of journal entries, accruals, and supporting schedules in accordance with U.S. GAAP.
  • Perform timely and accurate balance sheet account reconciliations; investigate and resolve reconciling items and aged balances.
  • Maintain the integrity of the general ledger across multiple legal entities and manufacturing locations; ensure proper account coding and intercompany activity.
  • Prepare internal management reports, variance analyses, and supporting schedules for leadership.
  • Lead the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual consolidated financial statements (income statement, balance sheet, statement of cash flows, and statement of equity) in accordance with U.S. GAAP.
  • Support fixed asset accounting, including capital expenditure tracking, additions, disposals, and depreciation in a capital-intensive manufacturing environment.
  • Process and record bi-weekly payroll, including journal entries, tax withholdings, benefits deductions, and reconciliation of payroll accounts to the general ledger, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
  • Coordinate with external auditors during interim and year-end audits; prepare PBC schedules, walkthrough documentation, and respond to audit inquiries.
  • Support compliance with internal controls and assist in the documentation, testing, and remediation of control deficiencies.
  • Identify and drive process improvements, automation opportunities, and standardization across Keel's accounting operations.
  • Mentor junior accounting staff and serve as a subject matter resource on accounting policy questions.
  • Perform other accounting and finance duties as assigned.
