About The Position

Parkway is looking for an experienced Senior Accountant to join our team in Jacksonville, Florida. The Senior Accountant is responsible for the accounting and financial statements for multiple properties as well as the review of other properties. Senior Accountants might train and/or coach Property Accountants and are also expected to complete special projects as assigned.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required.
Requires a minimum of four (4) years of relevant, progressive accounting experience.
General accounting knowledge and understanding is required.
Advanced level of proficiency using Microsoft Office with an emphasis on Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
Ability to perform complex duties with a limited level of supervision.
Exceptionally strong interpersonal and client service skills with an emphasis on tact and diplomacy. Builds relationships and works cohesively with others.
Effective time management and personal organization skills; works with a sense of urgency; able to meet deadlines. Follows through on commitments, using sound judgement and the ability to recognize and handle sensitive/confidential information.
Aptitude for working in a highly detailed, data-driven environment.
Ability to adapt quickly to change, prioritize tasks and perform multiple functions.
Professional, effective written and verbal communication skills. Understands the concept of communicating early and often and conducts one’s self accordingly. Requires the ability to read, write and speak English clearly to complete tasks.
Ability to comprehend, analyze and interpret documents. Capable of defining problems, collecting data, establishing facts and drawing conclusions at a level appropriate for the function.

Nice To Haves

Master’s degree in Accounting/Business is preferred.
CPA license—completed or working toward—is a plus.

Responsibilities

Prepares monthly and quarterly financial statements and debt compliance packages for multiple office or Industrial portfolios.
Reviews financial statements of other accountants before they are shared with external parties.
Prepares GAAP supporting schedules/spreadsheets to reconcile balance sheet and income statement accounts.
Records accruals, reclasses, recurring journal entries, and tracks capital projects as part of the monthly package preparation.
Assists in preparing property budgets and completing monthly financial budget variance analysis.
Prepares annual Common Area Maintenance (CAM) tenant billing estimates and annual reconciliations.
Prepares cash projection analysis for reporting portfolio.
Ensures timely payment of real estate taxes and mortgage payments.
Provides accounting support to internal teams including Owners, Management, Investments, Property Management, and accounting operational support teams (AP, AR, and Lease Administration).
Also, provides accounting support to external stakeholders including Lenders and Third Party ownership groups.
Trains and leads other accountants in special projects.
Assist with annual audit testing.
Complies with all applicable Federal and State regulations and Company directives related to privacy and confidentiality.
Participates in and contributes to department staff meetings on a regular basis.
Contributes toward the development of standard operating procedures in all areas of influence; continues to find new ways to improve quality and efficiency.
Enhances department and organization reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests and exploring opportunities to add value.
Assists with other duties as necessary and provides general support of the Parkway mission in whatever way(s) possible.
