About The Position

Testek Solutions is currently seeking a part time Senior Accountant. The Senior Accountant supports the Corporate Controller in the day-to-day accounting functions of the organization, and is the lead accountant for the month end closing/financial statement creation process. Will provide daily/weekly monthly financial reporting and assists in the development of financial plans, forecasts, and the analysis of operational results. They will supervise the payroll/AR specialist, and also provide guidance to AP specialist. This role is a key partner to managers/project managers throughout the organization and is the right hand and partner to the Corporate Controller. Candidate needs to be hands-on and technology savvy with a passion for learning (and optimizing) new technologies and has a high level of expertise in Excel. A new ERP (Epicor) has just gone live, and the Senior Accountant should become a key power-user of the system and will help optimize accounting/finance functions over time. Needs to be a problem solver that enjoys troubleshooting issues and improving processes. Must be able to work independently and understands the gravity of deadlines. Should have a high level of pride in work product. This role will be approximately 20-25 hours per week. Ideally, flex for longer hours the first two weeks of the month, fewer hours in the last two weeks of the month. This position could potentially lead into full time.

Requirements

  • BA or BS in Accounting
  • 2-3 years’ experience in public accounting
  • 2-3 years’ experience in a manufacturing firm where candidate was responsible for full cycle accounting, and month-end close
  • Advanced Excel (VLOOKUP, pivot table, macros)
  • Must be able to work independently and understands the gravity of deadlines.
  • Should have a high level of pride in work product.

Nice To Haves

  • CPA or MBA preferred, but not required
  • Payroll oversite or administration preferred
  • ERP experience (Epicor ERP experience highly desired, but not required)
  • POC based manufacturing experience or knowledge desired

Responsibilities

  • Lead all aspects of the month-end close process including calculation/posting of JEs and maintaining of workpapers
  • Creation of key account reconciliations monthly
  • Daily/Monthly reconciliation of bank accounts
  • Oversee Payroll employee & payroll back-up as needed. Review and posting of payroll entries
  • ERP financial area expert
  • Help resolve issues with 3rd party benefit administrators
  • Maintain fixed asset schedules
  • Provide reporting and analysis to the organization as needed
  • Assist in year-end tax and audit work as needed
  • All other duties as assigned by the Controller
