About The Position

The Sr. Accountant will support corporate by maintaining accurate records of assets, liabilities, profit and loss, and tax liabilities, and ensuring financial reporting accuracy. The role will focus on monthly close with a strong emphasis on lease accounting (ASC 842), reconciliations, and corporate-level accounting activities, while also assisting with audits, compliance, and process improvements across the Finance Department. Position will train or mentor Accountants as directed.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA required.
  • 2+ years of accounting experience, preferably in corporate or multi-entity environments.
  • Strong understanding of ASC 842 (leasing)
  • Experience with Accounting Software (Microsoft Dynamics GP or similar ERP); strong MS Office skills, especially Excel.
  • Blend of industry experience and public accounting audit is preferred
  • Proactive mindset with interest in improving processes and supporting system upgrades
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP and corporate accounting practices.
  • Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines, manage multiple tasks, and work independently.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Able to collaborate with individuals across all levels of the organization; customer-focused mindset.
  • High attention to detail, accuracy, and efficiency.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the company’s lease accounting through Lease Query – including coordinating with sites to understand the nature of leases, identify new leases, identify modifications, and any other leasing activity impacted by ASC 842. Ensure monthly lease journal entries are recorded accurately.
  • Own core month end close activities including accruals, reconciliations, and journal entries.
  • Take full ownership of the fixed asset process including capitalization, project tracking, approvals, reporting, and accuracy of the subledger.
  • Partner with the Senior Accounting Manager and Director of Accounting to support the rebuild of the fixed asset subledger and strengthen policies, controls, and reporting.
  • Prepare schedules and support documentation for internal reporting and PE sponsor reviews.
  • Identify gaps in existing processes and recommend improvements to drive efficiency.
  • Collaborate cross functionally with Operations and FP&A on capital projects and month end deliverables.
  • Support system modernization efforts.
  • Handle additional projects related to close, analysis, and reporting as assigned.
  • Partner with other departments to support process improvements, system enhancements, and special projects.
  • Other duties as assigned.
