About The Position

Barron Lighting Group is a leader in manufacturing and marketing its comprehensive line of lighting solutions for commercial and industrial applications. We’re looking to grow our business with innovative people who can contribute to our company culture and vision. We are currently seeking a Senior Accountant with 5+ years of experience in general accounting. This role is responsible for assisting the Accounting Manager prepare financial statements, review and reconcile Balance Sheet accounts, and assist with year-end review and financial close duties.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Accounting from an accredited institution required
5+ years of professional experience in a similar role; sales tax experience a plus
Research skills, Thoroughness, Corporate finance, and Deadline-oriented
Analytical – attention to detail and precise data handling
Ability to manage competing priorities effectively
Team player that demonstrates initiative
Clear and concise communication

Responsibilities

Ensures the integrity of accounting information by recording, verifying, consolidating, and entering transactions.
Prepares and records asset, liability, revenue, and expenses entries by compiling and analyzing account information.
Maintains and balances subsidiary accounts by verifying, allocating, posting, and reconciling transactions and resolving discrepancies.
Maintains general ledger by transferring subsidiary accounts, preparing a trial balance, and reconciling entries.
Assists with external review by analyzing general ledger accounts and providing information for auditors.
Avoids legal challenges by complying with legal requirements.
Protects organization’s value by keeping information confidential.
Record and remit sales tax from customers
Cross trains multiple functions within the Accounting Department as needed.
Performs other related duties as assigned or requested.
