About The Position

Sycamores provides a spectrum of equitable mental health services through various programs to multicultural populations of all acuities. Although it serves a variety of consumers, the agency focuses primarily on providing care to low-income, high at- risk youth. Provide general accounting support as part of the Accounting Team with responsibilities, accountability, and processes in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and Sycamores’ policies and procedures.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree required.
2 years of relevant experience required.
Working knowledge of financial accounting systems, Blackbaud (Financial Edge) preferred.
Familiarity with established accounting practices, procedures, and ability to evaluate financial processes.
Strong analytical skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
Knowledge in internal controls (and Sarbanes Oxley as applicable)

Nice To Haves

Accounting or Business Administration preferred.
Knowledge and ability to interpret and apply Code of Federal Regulations Cost Principles (2CFRpart 200) preferred.

Responsibilities

Manage cash flow forecast.
Analyze and reconcile general ledger and sub-ledger accounts.
Prepare journal entries to support month end close.
Manages fixed assets and depreciation.
Perform monthly bank reconciliations and follow up on open items.
Performs horizontal analysis.
Prepare year end close schedules and assist with fiscal audit.
Assist with implementing and maintaining internal controls and procedures in accordance with GAAP and Auditor-Controller handbook.
Participates in annual budgeting project.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
