About The Position

The Senior Accountant will work closely with acquired companies to support accounting activities including invoice processing, accounts payable, vendor payments, billings & collections, fixed assets, reconciliations and ROUs journal entries. This role is responsible for monthly financial statements prepared in accordance with GAAP and for optimizing, developing, and monitoring adherence to internal policies, procedures, and controls.

Requirements

• 3+ years of prior accounting experience in a similar role
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting
• Strong understanding of GAAP accounting
• Able to communicate accounting and financial information using common language
• Experience preparing and reviewing financial statements
• Excellent organization and priority setting skills
• Excellent interpersonal skills and strong attention to detail with high accuracy
• Highly motivated, able to take initiative, and comfortable working independently
• Thrives in a fast pace, entrepreneurial environment
• Positive attitude, team player, works collaboratively
• Impeccable integrity and ethical standards

Nice To Haves

• Experience with Viewpoint Spectrum and Build Ops
• Experience with Construction/Contractor accounting
• Familiar with ASC 606 and ASC 842

Responsibilities

• Ensure accounting of month-end close responsibilities are completed timely; implement robust processes to ensure financial statement integrity, including balance sheet account reconciliations and income statement analysis
• Making monthly compensation and benefits journal entries during month end close
• Identify opportunities for cost reduction and cost savings
• Review AP/AR and WIP schedules
• Support financial audits by providing necessary documentation and explanations and coordinating with external auditors to ensure successful engagement
• Support team with key strategic and process improvement initiatives
• Assist with new financial technology implementations as needed
• Other duties as assigned
