About The Position

Chazin is seeking a Senior Accountant to provide accurate, timely full-cycle accounting support for multiple nonprofit clients in a fully remote environment. This role is responsible for recurring accounting operations, month-end close, reconciliations, financial reporting, audit preparation, grant support, and specialized reporting under the guidance of the Client Services Manager. It is well suited for someone who values structured work, steady follow-through, and high standards for accuracy while managing recurring deadlines across client accounts.

Requirements

  • Strong command of GAAP and nonprofit accounting principles
  • Ability to manage recurring accounting processes with accuracy, consistency, and close attention to detail
  • Comfort working within established procedures, compliance requirements, and quality control standards
  • Ability to prioritize multiple deadlines across client accounts in a remote environment
  • Clear written communication for documentation, reporting, and audit support
  • Ability to work professionally and independently from home while contributing effectively to a team-oriented virtual environment
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office 365, QuickBooks Online, and BILL
  • Willingness and ability to become proficient with Sage Intacct and other third-party applications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
  • Minimum of five years of general accounting experience
  • Experience in audit preparation

  • Nonprofit accounting experience preferred

Responsibilities

  • Provide full-cycle accounting support for multiple nonprofit clients, including accounts receivable, accounts payable, payroll, and general ledger maintenance
  • Prepare month-end close workbooks, complete statement of financial position reconciliations, and issue monthly financial statements
  • Meet client deadlines and submit work to compliance and quality control on a timely basis
  • Apply nonprofit revenue recognition guidance, including accounting for exchange transactions, contributions, and donor restrictions
  • Review investment statements and prepare investment roll-forwards to support accurate financial reporting
  • Support grant management and reporting requirements
  • Coordinate audit preparation, including schedules, support during audits, and final audit deliverables
  • Assist with Form 990 preparation and other local, state, and federal filings
  • Prepare specialized reporting to support client decision-making
  • Assist with financial analysis, cash flow forecasting, and budget preparation under the guidance of a Controller
