About The Position

The Senior Accountant oversees complex accounting activities, ensures accurate financial reporting, and supports strategic decision-making through analysis and insight. This role manages month-end close processes, maintains compliance with GAAP, and collaborates across departments to strengthen financial operations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred.
  • 4–7 years of progressive accounting experience.
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting standards.
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel and familiarity with ERP systems (Appfolio experience a plus).
  • Exceptional analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Financial analysis and problem-solving.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Strong communication skills for cross-functional collaboration.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.

Nice To Haves

  • Background in property management or construction a preferred.
  • Experience improving or implementing accounting processes and systems.

Responsibilities

  • Lead month-end and year-end close including journal entries, reconciliations, accruals, and financial statement preparation.
  • Prepare and analyze financial reports to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Maintain and improve internal controls to ensure accuracy, compliance, and operational efficiency.
  • Oversee general ledger activities and ensure proper classification of transactions.
  • Support audits by preparing schedules, documentation, and responding to auditor inquiries.
  • Assist with budgeting and forecasting, providing data-driven insights and recommendations.
  • Review work of junior accountants, offering guidance, training, and quality control.
  • Ensure compliance with GAAP, tax regulations, and company policies.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to streamline processes and resolve accounting issues.
  • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
  • Assistance to the CFO and Accounting Manager as needed.
  • Regular attendance.
  • Travel and work overtime as required.
