About The Position

Responsible for assisting the finance department and CFO in routine tasks and special projects.

Requirements

  • Previous accounting or bookkeeping experience is required
  • Robust mathematical and analytical skills
  • Excellent professional oral and written communication skills
  • Able to work both independently and collaboratively
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in healthcare or nonprofit setting a plus
  • Associate’s degree or higher preferred
  • Accounting degree is ideal but not required

Responsibilities

  • Create and enter adjusting journal entries and miscellaneous deposits.
  • Reconcile all bank accounts.
  • Track donations and grants revenue and expenses.
  • Track and reconcile prepaid expenses and nonpatient accounts receivable.
  • Generate financial reports from the electronic health record system.
  • Review general ledger for accurate posting.
  • Compile monthly financial statements.
  • Produce and distribute monthly departmental financial reports.
  • Assist with annual budget preparation.
  • Work with CPA firm on financial audits, cost reports, DSH surveys, and tax returns.
  • Assist with accounts payable.
  • Assist in the preparation and review of 1099 forms.
  • Generate production reports, invoices, and billing for shared medical providers.
  • Calculate and submit quarterly sales tax returns.
  • Assist department directors and supervisors with budget and expense inquiries.
  • Analyze data for irregularities.
  • Attend required meetings.
  • Other duties as assigned by the CFO.
