About The Position

The Senior Accountant will support the month-end close, perform high-quality reconciliations, maintain general ledger accuracy, and assist with internal financial reporting. This person will work closely with and support the accounting leadership team across all aspects of the close and reporting cycle. This person will gain exposure to all facets of the business and will work closely with key department leaders. This is a fully onsite (Mon–Fri) position at Worldwide Golf Headquarters in Santa Ana, CA.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field is required.
  • 3-5 years of experience in accounting required
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel (sumif, vlookup, pivot tables, etc.) required
  • Experience with mainstream ERP system/accounting software required (SAP is a plus)
  • Strong knowledge of US GAAP and accounting principles is required.
  • Interest and enthusiasm toward implementing AI in the accounting function is required.

Nice To Haves

  • CPA is a plus but not required.
  • Experience or interest in AI and emerging technologies is a plus
  • Accounting experience in the retail industry (or similar industry) is a plus, but not required
  • Golf background or interest in golf is a plus!

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and review journal entries for month-end close, including accruals, prepaid expenses, inventory adjustments, and payroll-related entries.
  • Perform timely and accurate balance sheet reconciliations across multiple entities.
  • Maintain the general ledger structure and ensure proper G/L coding and documentation of journal entries and other postings.
  • Help develop, implement, and improve our accounting policies and procedures
  • Provide financial analysis and guidance to the leadership team on an ad hoc basis
  • Support relationships with external auditors and other third-party service providers
  • Support the preparation of internal financial statements and management reports.
  • Investigate variances and provide clarity to the Director of Accounting and leadership team.
  • Develop and maintain internal controls to ensure the accuracy and completeness of financial information
  • Help optimize processes related to our new SAP implementation and identify opportunities for efficiency.
  • Support automation initiatives, documentation of SOPs, and improved accounting workflows.
