About The Position

Power Solutions International (PSI) is a leading manufacturer of emissions-certified powertrains specializing in customized and fully integrated turnkey solutions for the leading global equipment manufacturers in the industrial, transportation, and energy markets manufacturers. Our facilities are housed in one million square feet of engineering, assembly, operations, and distribution space across seven facilities. We are positioned to meet the high production volumes of our customers with added capacity for growth. Position Summary: The Senior Accountant ensures the accuracy of entries to ledger accounts and reconciles subsidiary ledger accounts to the general ledger. In this role you will maintain financial records and ensure that financial transactions are properly recorded. Additionally, you may review and guide the work of lower-level accountants. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in timely and accurate financial reporting as well as implementation of controls around operations and SOX compliance.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree, in Accounting or Finance
  • Accounting experience at an SEC registrant company or public accounting firm with SEC clients.
  • Proficient understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
  • Experience running financial reports and complex accounting operations with minimum supervision

Nice To Haves

  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or CPA candidate preferred
  • Epicor ERP system knowledge
  • Manufacturing industry experience

Responsibilities

  • Oversee various month-end closing procedures, including preparing journal entries and related supporting schedules
  • Specific accounting areas include warranty accruals, company payroll/benefit account review, prepaid items, as well as debt and fixed asset management
  • Conduct monthly and quarterly account reconciliations to ensure accurate reporting and ledger maintenance
  • Communicate findings as needed throughout the company
  • Prepare complex balance sheets, profit and loss statements, and other financial reports
  • Analyze current costs, revenues, financial commitments, and obligations incurred to predict future revenues and expenses
  • Create financial and accounting ad-hoc reports for analysis by internal and external regulatory audit compliance
  • Work on various special projects and perform other accounting assignments as needed
  • Develop and document policies, procedures, and workflow for assigned areas of responsibility
  • Work with Internal Audit and the Accounting Manager to support the remediation process around internal controls
  • Other duties assigned by management
