About The Position
This is a 9-month contract position. As a key member of the Finance team, the successful candidate will work closely with cross-functional partners to support financial operations, strengthen processes, and contribute to ongoing business initiatives. The role requires a detail-oriented, analytical professional who can clearly communicate financial information and build strong working relationships across the organization.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline
- Minimum 5+ years of experience in financial accounting, preferably under U.S. GAAP
- Strong technical and systems proficiency, including Microsoft Excel and business intelligence tools
- Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational and time-management skills
- Analytical mindset with a natural curiosity and ability to perform in-depth analysis
- Clear and effective communicator
- Customer-focused when working with both internal and external stakeholders
- Collaborative team player capable of managing multiple priorities
Nice To Haves
- Accounting designation (CPA or equivalent) is considered an asset
- Experience with AS-400 (BPCS) and QlikView / QlikSense is an asset
Responsibilities
- Prepare year-end audit documentation and supporting schedules; liaise with external auditors
- Assist with the preparation and coordination of the annual budget
- Prepare month-end journal entries and balance sheet reconciliations
- Ensure all revenue and costs are accurately recorded in the appropriate accounting period
- Manage inventory accuracy between subledger, general ledger, and cycle counts
- Assist with intercompany transactions, including month-end reconciliations
- Perform daily cash application (A/R receipts) and bank reconciliations
- Review and issue credit notes as required
- Identify opportunities for Lean process improvements
- Participate in or lead finance-related projects and cross-functional initiatives
- Perform other duties as required to support the Finance team
