This position reports directly to the Accounting Manager and will be responsible for various areas relating to month-end/year-end closing, including working with Fulgent’s independent registered public accounting firm to ensure that the financial statements present fairly, in all material respects, in conformity with accounting principles generally accepted in the United States (U.S. GAAP) and SEC Regulations. This role will also participate in advising management on complex transactions from an accounting perspective. This position requires significant interaction with individuals internal and external to the organization, including senior management, independent auditors and other service providers. This position requires the ability to research accounting guidance, and interpret transactions in a clear and concise manner for multiple audiences. This position also requires the ability to acquire and appropriately apply knowledge of the following accounting functions: General Ledger U.S. GAAP SOX Compliance

Requirements

Bachelor's degree with major in accounting.
4+ years of progressive experience.
Accounting experience for public companies and big-four or mid-size accounting firm required.
Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP.
Extensive experience in month-end closing either from preparation or auditing standpoint.
Must possess excellent written and oral communication skills.
Strong computer skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office including Excel and Word.
Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with discretion.
Demonstrate a high level of integrity and commitment to regulatory compliance, including adherence to SOX requirements and internal control standards.
Effective planning and organizational skills; results oriented; and possess the ability to competently manage multiple priorities.
Ability to handle stress and work well under pressure and tight deadlines.
Commitment to positive teamwork and high level of attention to detail.

Nice To Haves

SOX compliance experience strongly preferred.
CPA is highly preferred with experience in public accounting and auditing.
Experience with Oracle NetSuite is a plus

Responsibilities

Responsible for areas in the month-end, quarter-end, and year-end financial closing process and reporting.
Reconcile various balance sheet accounts and prepare adjusting journal entries.
Prepare fluctuations analysis for balance sheet accounts and income statements.
Review general ledger details for proper classification, cut-off, and completeness.
Consolidate financial statements including eliminating intercompany transactions.
Prepare schedules and information needed for the Company’s SEC reporting, including SOX compliance support
Perform technical and regulatory accounting research and develop alternative approaches as deemed appropriate.
Interfaces with internal and external auditors regarding financial reporting issues.
Support SOX compliance activities, including documentation of internal controls, and coordination with internal and external auditors.
Present recommendations/resolutions on various transactions across the organization.
Analyze and assist in implementation of new accounting pronouncements.
Perform other duties as assigned.
