About The Position

Ensures the integrity of accounting information by verifying data accuracy and reviewing policies and procedures to ensure proper control of transactions, with the primary objective to assure accurate and timely preparation of the monthly, quarterly, and annual consolidated financial statements for Beretta USA and its subsidiary in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles. The senior accountant assures adherence to proper accounting policies and procedures through proofs and controls of General Ledger accounts. The senior accountant also prepares various internal and external reports monthly/quarterly and annually for management or per governmental requirements.

Requirements

  • At least three years of experience in an automated accounting environment
  • Ability to lead reporting, reconciliation, and process improvement initiatives.
  • Ability to use spreadsheet and word processing software; Excel and Word for Windows a plus.
  • Knowledge of POS systems and operations.
  • Demonstrated organizational skills.
  • Bachelors degree in Accounting.
  • 3+ years experience in an automated accounting environment for a retail or similar business

  • Certified Public Accountant a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with the preparation of financial reports in the format required by the Holding Company
  • Oversee and analyze monthly inventory reconciliations; identify and resolve discrepancies proactively.
  • Reconcile and report intergroup receivable and payable trade balances with foreign sister companies.
  • Prepare reconciliations of General Ledger accounts monthly and on an as needed basis (i.e. accrued expenses, other assets, other liabilities, etc.).
  • Maintain inventory master data (e.g., item cost, Pricing) in alignment with Finance and Marketing objectives. (Typically updated annually)
  • Ensure proper accounting for inventory transactions including purchasing, transfers, sales, and consignment stock.
  • Lead and supervise the annual physical inventory process with precision and accountability.
  • Review and maintain accounting reports in POS system and ensure data accuracy.
  • Review monthly journal entries for the Cougar Corp.
  • Ensure timely and accurate G/L reconciliations each month.
  • Deliver actionable margin analysis reports on serialized products to support product and pricing decisions.
  • Review and interpret monthly Management Profitability Reports to guide operational improvements
  • Participate in cross-functional financial projects supporting executive initiatives.
  • Identify automation or process improvement opportunities to streamline retail accounting workflows.
