About The Position

We are seeking a detail-oriented Senior Accountant to join our team at our U.S. headquarters in Branford, CT. This position plays a key role in maintaining the accuracy and integrity of financial and cost accounting data within the General Ledger while supporting core financial reporting and internal control processes. The successful candidate will work closely with the Accounting Manager to support month-end and year-end close activities, contribute to cost accounting analysis, and participate in special projects and system-related initiatives that support the department's ongoing objectives.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
  • At least 5 years of relevant experience.
  • Advanced MS Excel skills (VLOOKUPs, pivot tables, formulas) and proficiency with accounting software.
  • Strong mathematical and analytical abilities, including proficiency in algebra and statistics, with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Ability to effectively present information to groups and prepare clear, concise reports and correspondence.

Nice To Haves

  • A mix of public and private accounting is a plus.
  • Experience with cost accounting in a manufacturing environment is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze productivity metrics, perform overhead allocations, and conduct margin analyses to identify cost-saving opportunities and evaluate profitability.
  • Prepare and present data-driven recommendations to management to support strategic planning.
  • Support the annual GAAP financial statement audit and conduct periodic internal audits to ensure data accuracy.
  • Manage month-end and year-end close activities, including journal entries and ledger reconciliations.
  • Review existing cost accounting policies and implement improvements as needed.
  • Assist with the fixed asset management module within our ERP system.
