About The Position

This role involves supporting accounting activities for acquired companies, including invoice processing, accounts payable, vendor payments, billings & collections, fixed assets, reconciliations, and ROU journal entries. The position requires preparing monthly financial statements in accordance with GAAP and optimizing internal policies, procedures, and controls.

Requirements

  • Minimum 3+ years of prior accounting experience in a similar role.
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting.
  • Strong understanding of GAAP accounting.
  • Able to communicate accounting and financial information using common language.
  • Experience preparing and reviewing financial statements.
  • Excellent organization and priority setting skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and strong attention to detail with high accuracy.
  • Highly motivated, able to take initiative, and comfortable working independently.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Viewpoint Spectrum and Build Ops.
  • Experience with Construction/Contractor accounting.
  • Familiar with ASC 606 and ASC 842.

Responsibilities

  • Support accounting activities for acquired companies including invoice processing, accounts payable, vendor payments, billings & collections, fixed assets, reconciliations and ROUs journal entries.
  • Prepare monthly financial statements in accordance with GAAP.
  • Optimize, develop, and monitor adherence to internal policies, procedures, and controls.
  • Ensure accounting of month-end close responsibilities are completed timely; implement robust processes to ensure financial statement integrity, including balance sheet account reconciliations and income statement analysis.
  • Make monthly compensation and benefits journal entries during month end close.
  • Identify opportunities for cost reduction and cost savings.
  • Review AP/AR and WIP schedules.
  • Support financial audits by providing necessary documentation and explanations and coordinating with external auditors to ensure successful engagement.
  • Support team with key strategic and process improvement initiatives.
  • Assist with new financial technology implementations as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.
