We’re looking to expand our team across the board. York Space Systems is seeking a Senior Accountant to join our finance team based in our Greenwood Village office. The Senior Accountant will play a key role in the monthly close process and financial reporting for a growing manufacturing organization. This position requires strong technical accounting knowledge, attention to detail, and the ability to partner cross-functionally while supporting continuous process improvements.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance
  • 3+ years of progressive accounting experience
  • Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP
  • Experience with ERP systems required
  • Advanced Excel skills, with the ability to analyze large datasets and translate findings into actionable insights
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills with high attention to detail
  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and operate effectively in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skills
  • Must have permanent authorization to work in the United States.

Nice To Haves

  • manufacturing experience preferred
  • Oracle Fusion Cloud strongly preferred

Responsibilities

  • Execute month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close activities, ensuring assigned areas are completed accurately and on time in accordance with US GAAP
  • Prepare and post journal entries across key areas including expenses, revenue, accruals, intercompany, and inventory-related transactions
  • Perform and maintain detailed account reconciliations, ensuring completeness, accuracy, and timely resolution of reconciling items
  • Support general ledger integrity by validating financial data, investigating variances, and maintaining proper account classifications
  • Prepare supporting schedules and workpapers for financial reporting, including flux and variance analyses to identify trends and discrepancies
  • Assist with ad hoc financial analysis, reporting requests, and special projects as assigned
  • Assist with audit processes by preparing PBC documentation and responding to auditor requests
  • Ensure compliance with internal controls, SOX requirements, and company accounting policies and procedures
  • Identify discrepancies or process gaps and proactively recommend improvements to enhance accuracy and efficiency
  • Support implementation of process improvements, automation initiatives, and system enhancements within the accounting function
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to ensure accurate financial data and resolve transactional issues
  • Cross-train to provide backup coverage across the accounting team to support broader finance initiatives
