About The Position

We are seeking a skilled Senior Accountant with a background in Manufacturing Accounting to join our Accounting team! This role will be responsible for overseeing the entry and review of transactions related to our manufacturing processes. Key responsibilities include managing material batching, production batching, and job closures, while collaborating with other departments on these transactions. Reporting directly to the Director of Accounting, this position is vital for our daily accounting operations, ensuring that transaction-level data is accurate and delivered on time. In addition to transaction oversight, the Senior Accountant will handle various month-end responsibilities, including processing journal entries for rebates, commissions, inventory, work in progress (WIP), and revenue, which will require detailed research and precise calculations.

Requirements

  • Experience with the requirements of the Sarbanes-Oxley Act and the COSO internal control framework.
  • Experience with general ledger functions and the month-end/year-end close process.
  • Ability to focus on transaction processing with strong attention to detail.
  • A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance, or equivalent relevant work experience is required.
  • Demonstrated expertise in accounting and financial analysis, particularly in a manufacturing setting, is essential.
  • 2-3 years of experience in accounting, specifically in subledger or general ledger accounting.
  • Proficiency in advanced Excel functions, including sumif, lookup functions, and pivot tables, is a must.

Responsibilities

  • Supporting inventory management and job-related tasks, such as conducting reviews for inventory obsolescence, analyzing sales, costs, and margins, and facilitating job closure processes.
  • Calculating and preparing general journal entries for rebates, commissions, inventory, work in progress (WIP), and revenue, which will necessitate thorough research and precise calculations.
  • Reconciling balance sheet accounts each month, investigating and resolving any discrepancies that arise.
  • Upholding compliance with company policies and procedures, including the requirements set forth by Sarbanes-Oxley for internal controls.
