About The Position

As a valued member of the corporate administration accounting team, the Sr. Financial Accountant will be part of a team responsible for accurate and timely accounting and monitoring of company’s assets, liabilities, intercompany notes and interest, other accounts as assigned, as well as accounting for corporate cost centers. This position will be located at the ABS head office in Sacramento, CA and reports to the Controller.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting
  • Minimum three years’ relevant experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Strong attention to detail and organization
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, proportions, and percentages.
  • Ability to follow policies and procedures and support organizational goals.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively, both orally and in writing, and to work well in collaborative group environments.
  • Intermediate knowledge of and experience with Microsoft Excel, Outlook,
  • Ability to work remotely, participate in online meetings and presentations, and report to a manager at another location.

Nice To Haves

  • CPA and/or CMA
  • Experience with Financial Accounting Software (OneStream, SAP)

Responsibilities

  • Prepare monthly journal entries as needed, including (but not limited to) intercompany interest, accruals, investments, assigned cost centers, addbacks, etc., ensuring the integrity of the data.
  • Prepare and maintain concise, quality account reconciliations for assigned balance sheet accounts, including responsibility for researching and fixing any variances or issues in a timely manner.
  • Understand and report monthly cash flow activity on assigned accounts.
  • Prepare files and support for assigned departments’ accrual meetings, analyzing activity to provide guidance on accruals monthly, interacting with department heads and other leadership as necessary.
  • Support the preliminary, quarterly and annual audits performed by external and internal auditors, providing quality data, analyses and files, as well as answering related questions timely.
  • Support internal controls as assigned.
  • Analyze trends and activity for assigned departments to assist with monthly reporting, as well as forecasting and budgeting as needed.
  • Manage workload and responsibilities to meet deadlines with reliable, quality information.
  • Assists in the coordination of capital projects, the approval process, project tracking, and capitalization.
  • Assists in reconciling lease accounting and management of changes for division.
  • Track and support the calculation and payment of Rebates for Vendors and Customers.
  • Maintain/update processes, procedures and checklists related to responsibilities.
  • Prepare and support assigned external financial reporting items for 10Q and 10K.
  • Provide analysis and support for period over period analysis as assigned.
  • Support quarterly reporting requirements and other special projects as assigned.
