We are seeking a detail-oriented and dependable Senior Accountant to join our finance team in Richmond. This is a hands-on role responsible for day-to-day accounting operations, including accounts payable, payroll, bank reconciliations, and regulatory filings. Experience with unionized payroll and Jonas Construction Software is considered a strong asset.

Requirements

  • Diploma or degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
  • 3+ years of relevant accounting experience
  • Strong working knowledge of accounts payable, payroll, and reconciliations
  • Solid understanding of Canadian payroll and regulatory requirements (CRA, WCB, EHT, GST/PST)
  • High attention to detail with a strong focus on accuracy
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
  • Ability to manage deadlines effectively, work independently, and collaborate within a team

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Jonas Construction Software
  • Experience running payroll in a unionized environment

Responsibilities

  • Process accounts payable, including invoice entry, coding, reconciliations, and payment preparation
  • Administer union and non-union payroll, including payroll reporting and remittances
  • Perform bank and credit card reconciliations on a regular basis
  • Prepare and file regulatory and statutory filings, including payroll remittances, GST/PST, WCB, and other compliance-related reports
  • Assist with month-end and year-end close, including intercompany invoicing and account reconciliations
  • Maintain accurate, complete, and well-organized accounting records and supporting documentation
  • Support ad hoc accounting and administration requests as required
  • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure consistency, accuracy, and compliance across financial processes
