About The Position

The Senior Accountant is responsible for various day-to-day accounting operations, ensuring accurate financial reporting in compliance with U.S. GAAP, maintaining strong internal controls, and preparing balance sheet account reconciliations. This role plays a pivotal part of the monthly close process and includes a focus on revenue, payroll/compensation and benefits accounting, and other related areas. The ideal candidate is a hands-on accounting professional with strong technical accounting skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. The Senior Accountant should be comfortable working closely with cross-functional teams, operating in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple responsibilities (flexible), improving processes, and supporting a broad range of accounting activities.

Requirements

  • Strong accounting background with 4+ years general ledger accounting experience
  • Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP, payroll accounting, and indirect tax requirements
  • Advanced Excel skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Team player and have ability to work independently
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including ability to interact effectively with all levels throughout Company organization
  • Experience with ERP systems

Nice To Haves

  • Masters in Accounting, CPA designation or CPA track a plus
  • Tech/SAAS industry experience a plus
  • SAP S4/HANA (Public Cloud) experience is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Month-end closing journal entries within a pre-defined close schedule
  • Prepare and review monthly balance sheet reconciliations for assigned accounts, including investigating and resolving reconciling items in a timely manner
  • Improve reconciliation processes and identify opportunities for automation and efficiency.
  • Ensure accuracy of financial statement accounts in accordance with GAAP and compliance to internal policies
  • Responsible for payroll-related accounting activities, including salary, bonus accruals, commissions, and related payroll taxes
  • Accounting for employee benefits programs including: Health insurance, 401(k), paid time off accruals, and other employee-related benefits
  • Assist with indirect tax compliance and accounting, including property tax, sales tax, and VAT
  • Support annual audits by preparation of audit schedules and responding to auditor requests.
  • Partner with Human Resources, Finance, Tax, and external payroll providers to resolve payroll and benefits issues.
  • Assist with special projects, system implementations, and process improvement initiatives
  • Supervise, train, and mentor accounting staff where applicable
