About The Position

The Huntsville Powertrain Plant Accounting/Finance department is hiring a Senior Accountant. Reporting to the Finance Manager, this role maintains and balances intercompany and accounts payable accounts. Responsibilities also include preparing month-end journal entries, account reconciliations, assigned account analyses, processing payables, and other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, or a bachelor's degree and CPA, plus at least 1 year of accounting or finance experience; alternatively, a master's degree in Accounting, or a master's degree and CPA, plus at least 1 year of accounting or finance experience.
• Qualified candidates, excluding current employees, must be legally authorized on an unrestricted basis (U.S. Citizen, Legal Permanent Resident, Refugee, or Asylee) to work in the United States. The employer does not anticipate providing employment-related work sponsorship for this position.
• Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
• Ability to work with difficult vendors and outside contractors.
• Good knowledge of accounting practices.
• Good organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Reconcile all intercompany accounts.
• Reconcile all accounts payable accounts.
• Process accounts payable as needed.
• Prepare month-end journal entries.
• Calculate and reconcile monthly sales/use tax entries.
• Prepare account reconciliations and analyze accounts as assigned.
