About The Position

We are seeking a talented & dynamic individual to fill the position of Senior Accountant in our new corporate office located in Rosemont, Illinois. The incumbent will be responsible for supporting our accounting and reporting function in performing the monthly, quarterly and yearly activities. The position reports to the NMLP Controller.

Requirements

  • Good understanding of U.S. GAAP and ability to stay current with accounting developments
  • Advanced Excel skills, including data modeling, pivot tables, complex formulas, and large dataset management
  • High attention to detail with strong organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Analytical mindset with problem-solving abilities
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to interact across functions
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (Accounting concentration required if not an accounting degree)
  • 4+ years of relevant accounting experience, including hands-on involvement in month-end close
  • Experience with major ERP systems (e.g., Microsoft Dynamics AX/D365 or similar) required

Nice To Haves

  • CPA or progress toward CPA strongly preferred but not required
  • Experience in manufacturing or industrial environments (e.g., steel) preferred but not required

Responsibilities

  • Support the month-end close process, including preparation and review of journal entries, account reconciliations, consolidation and variance analysis
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting packages, including consolidated financial statements and supporting schedules
  • Analyze revenue, cost of goods sold, and inventory to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for improvement
  • Maintain and reconcile balance sheet accounts across multiple entities and ledgers, ensuring accuracy and completeness
  • Support budgeting and forecasting processes, including review of business unit submissions and follow-up on variances
  • Drive process improvements and automation initiatives to enhance efficiency and strengthen internal controls
  • Support ad hoc financial analysis and special projects as needed
