About The Position

The Senior Accountant will be a key member of the finance team, responsible for overseeing critical financial processes and contributing to the month-end close procedures for their region. The role will include preparing journal entries, conducting balance sheet reconciliations, ensuring accurate monthly accruals, monitoring inventory valuation, and providing support to the group services finance team. Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or direct related work experience
  • 5+ years of general ledger accounting experience in US GAAP
  • Intermediate Excel skills
  • Ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Microsoft D365 or similar ERP system
  • Manufacturing or inventory accounting experience
