About The Position

BMSS Advisors & CPAs is seeking a Senior Accountant to join our Transaction Advisory Services (TAS) practice, focused on financial due diligence for mergers and acquisitions. This is a high-impact, client-facing role supporting buy-side and sell-side engagements in the lower middle market. In this role, you will work directly with business owners, private equity sponsors, lenders, and deal teams to deliver Quality of Earnings analyses, working capital assessments, closing statement support, and financial due diligence reports that inform critical transaction decisions. Relationships are central to how we work. You will build trusted connections internally across the team and externally with clients and professionals while continuing to grow your technical advisory skill set.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience in public accounting audit, transaction advisory, investment banking, or private equity
  • Strong working knowledge of US GAAP; GAAS familiarity a plus
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance from an accredited institution
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel with comfort working with financial data and large datasets
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present findings clearly to clients and deal teams
  • A relationship-driven mindset with the ability to work effectively in a collaborative, client-facing environment

Nice To Haves

  • CPA or active CPA candidate
  • Prior experience with financial due diligence, Quality of Earnings, working capital analyses, or M&A transaction support
  • Experience serving lower middle market companies, private equity sponsors, or lender-backed transactions

Responsibilities

  • Perform financial due diligence and Quality of Earnings analyses supporting buy-side and sell-side transactions
  • Collaborate with clients, deal counsel, and transaction advisors throughout the deal cycle
  • Contribute to working capital analyses, financial statement normalization, and key findings documentation
  • Assist with closing statement preparation and review, including net working capital true-ups, indebtedness schedules, and cash and cash equivalents determinations
  • Prepare clear, well-supported analyses and reports that help clients and deal teams evaluate transaction opportunities and risks
  • Build strong working relationships with internal team members, clients, and external deal professionals
