We are seeking a motivated and intellectually curious Senior Revenue Accountant to join our Revenue Accounting & Receivables organization. This role is ideal for an accounting professional who enjoys solving complex problems, partnering cross-functionally, and improving accounting processes through automation and technology. The position offers broad exposure across Revenue Accounting, Publisher Accounting, Financial Systems, Product, Engineering, and Operations within a fast-paced, publicly traded technology company. The Senior Revenue Accountant will own a variety of complex accounting processes supporting Magnite's publisher ecosystem, customer invoicing, revenue share arrangements, and month-end close. This individual will analyze contractual terms, prepare journal entries and reconciliations, execute SOX controls, and partner closely with cross-functional teams to support new commercial offerings and system enhancements. The ideal candidate is analytical, detail-oriented, comfortable working with large datasets, and thrives in an evolving environment where continuous process improvement is encouraged. Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • 3-5 years of progressive accounting experience.
  • Experience preparing complex journal entries, reconciliations, and month-end close activities.
  • Experience operating within a SOX-compliant environment.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including PivotTables, XLOOKUP, and complex formulas.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Comfort with multiple foreign currencies and conversions

Nice To Haves

  • CPA or CPA candidate preferred.
  • Experience with Oracle or large ERP systems.
  • Experience working with large transactional data sets.
  • Advertising technology, SaaS, marketplace, or digital media industry experience.
  • Experience participating in process automation or system improvements.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare monthly revenue, contra-revenue, and publisher-related journal entries.
  • Calculate and process complex publisher adjustments
  • Prepare and validate publisher accruals and supporting analyses.
  • Process publisher vouchers, payment files, and statements across multiple business platforms for both US and International entities
  • Maintain publisher accounting schedules, including clawback rights, netting arrangements, and manual adjustment tracking.
  • Prepare recurring and non-recurring journal entries, including accruals, true-ups, and reserve calculations.
  • Reconcile complex balance sheet and income statement accounts.
  • Investigate period-over-period fluctuations and resolve accounting variances.
  • Prepare and present accounting close reports, such as Margin Analysis, etc.
  • Analyze contractual terms to determine appropriate accounting treatment.
  • Support quarterly reserve analyses and exposure assessments.
  • Execute and document SOX controls supporting the revenue accounting process.
  • Perform recurring validations over publisher fee calculations, credit memo activity, change logs and revenue transactions.
  • Ensure accounting records are complete, accurate, and supported by appropriate documentation.
  • Compile and review requests for quarterly and annual audits
  • Partner with Financial Systems, Product, Engineering, and Operations to support new products, commercial offerings, and system implementations.
  • Participate in testing and validation of Oracle enhancements and other financial system changes.
  • Identify opportunities to streamline manual processes through automation, reporting improvements, and AI-enabled solutions.
