About The Position

As a Revenue Recognition & Reporting, Sr. Accountant you will play a critical role in the Activision Blizzard controllership as well as the worldwide Finance Team. Overall, the responsibility of this role is to (1) Support execution of the accounting process for our revenue accounting system (2) support revenue recognition execution for partnership transactions not processed by our revenue system (3) partner with technical accounting, as well as business and finance teams to stay up to date on new developments within the business that can impact our revenue system set ups and process, and (4) ensure that we have aligned with all accounting requirements under US GAAP and global accounting policies as it relates to areas of responsibility. You will work closely to partner with the business units across the company to ensure a deep understanding of our business activities associated with games in development, and address accounting and finance-related issues. You will have interaction and insights into Business Unit finance teams.

Requirements

  • B.A./B.S. in Accounting
  • 5+ years of professional accounting, with experience in revenue recognition
  • Previous working experience managing system data flows and processing of high volume of transaction data
  • Strong Microsoft Excel Skills
  • Strong knowledge of revenue recognition under US GAAP
  • Experience in managing and analyzing large data sets

Nice To Haves

  • CPA preferred but not required
  • Experience with Oracle eBusiness Suite or similar ERP
  • Experience with reporting tools such as Looker, OBIEE Answers and Hyperion
  • Experience with Zuora Revenue Recognition software
  • Experience with revenue recognition in the gaming industry

Responsibilities

  • Support the full accounting close process for the revenue accounting system, including preparation and maintenance of system configurations, performing related reconciliations, and ensuring all activities meet SOX compliance requirements
  • Work closely with finance teams to stay informed of current business performance and new developments in the business to ensure proper accounting system set ups
  • Partner with key stakeholders and business unit teams to execute revenue recognition for new partnership transactions and other non-routine revenue entries (e.g. agreement review, revenue accounting workbook preparation, journal entry preparation)
  • Partner with Corporate FP&A team to prepare supporting schedules to support revenue forecasts
  • Support internal and external audit process and requests as needed for areas of responsibility
  • Support with testing revenue system upgrades and enhancements
