About The Position

Perform various accounting duties and financial analysis for the Accounts Payable/Payroll GL functions company-wide.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance.
  • Two to three years accounting experience, ideally with public accounting firm, or public/large private company.
  • Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles.
  • Background with data analytics
  • Strong analytical and problem resolution skills.
  • Keen attention to detail.
  • Detail-oriented, self-motivated, strong organizational and documentation skills, ability to work as a team as well as self-directed to meet deadlines, receptive to real-time feedback and continuous process improvement.
  • Ability to utilize new tools and technologies in a rapidly changing environment.
  • Ability to effectively prioritize, execute tasks and provide accurate and efficient service under the stress of tight deadlines.
  • Strong interpersonal and oral communication skills.
  • Computer literacy, including Excel, Word, and related accounting systems.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience with payroll preferred but not required.
  • Oracle Fusion and ADP experience preferred but not necessary.

Responsibilities

  • Perform daily and monthly accounting functions including journal entries, account reconciliations, and accruals to ensure accurate and timely recording of payroll and benefits expenses.
  • Assist in month-end and quarter-end close processes, ensuring deadlines are met and financial statements are accurate.
  • Utilize data analytics to ensure completeness and accuracy in recording expenses and related accruals in the general ledger.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement and automation in accounting workflows as well as look for opportunities to implement analytical procedures for large sets of payroll and benefits data.
  • Communicate key information to other accounting team members and management.
  • Support internal and external audits by preparing schedules and responding to audit inquiries.
  • Collaborate with various departments, including payroll cash disbursements, benefits, FP&A and operations to identify and support account balance and statistical fluctuations.
  • Ensure compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) controls and corporate policies.
