About The Position

The North America (NA) Controlling team is a dynamic and highly collaborative group dedicated to delivering timely, accurate financial reporting and meaningful business insights. This role reports to the NA Revenue Accounting Director and works closely with Finance, Sales, Operations, and Global Controlling partners to support strategic business objectives across the geography. The ideal candidate is a proactive, highly organized accounting professional with a strong foundation in accounting principles, US GAAP, and financial reporting. They demonstrate excellent critical thinking and problem-solving skills and are comfortable navigating a fast-paced, dynamic environment with competing priorities. This individual excels at building collaborative relationships across teams and functions, leveraging strong communication skills to effectively partner with stakeholders and influence outcomes. They bring a continuous improvement mindset, a high level of attention to detail, and the ability to independently manage complex processes while maintaining accuracy and strong controls. The successful candidate is adaptable, resourceful, and motivated to contribute to timely and accurate financial reporting while supporting strategic business initiatives across the North America geography.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. Will accept any suitable combination of education, experience, and training.
Minimum 3 years of experience in public accounting, corporate accounting, technical accounting, or a related finance function within a large, complex organization.
Strong understanding of US GAAP - specifically ASC 606, financial reporting, and internal controls over financial reporting.
Demonstrated ability to build collaborative partnerships, communicate effectively across organizational levels, and manage multiple priorities with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.

Nice To Haves

Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or equivalent professional certification preferred.

Responsibilities

Ensure the accuracy of North America Revenue and Receivables financial reporting while supporting strong controls, process excellence, and key business initiatives.
Partner across finance and business teams to drive informed decisions, enable growth strategies, and continuously improve accounting processes.
Execute timely and accurate month-end and quarter-end close activities for revenue and receivables-related accounts.
Partner closely with Finance, Operations, Sales, Technical Accounting, and Global Controlling teams to support critical judgmental estimates, enable key business initiatives and resolve complex accounting matters.
Perform financial analyses and account reviews to assess the accuracy and completeness of transactions, balances, and financial reporting.
Collaborate with NIKE's Managed Service Provider to support transaction processing, issue resolution, and process standardization efforts.
Identify and implement process improvements that enhance efficiency, strengthen controls, and improve the quality of financial reporting.
Support key Controlling initiatives, including system implementations, process enhancements, and cross-functional projects.
Execute SOX controls and support financial statement reporting requirements to help maintain a strong control environment and compliance with US GAAP.
