Requirements

  • Is known for their ability to manage relationships with key stakeholders
  • Stands out for their analytical, organizational and communication skills
  • Demonstrates strong knowledge of IFRS or US GAAP
  • Is recognized for their experience in financial systems such as NetSuite, SAP, Blackline, and Great Plains.
  • Has 3-5 years of experience in accounting

Responsibilities

  • Assist with the monthly financial close process for the internal underwriter, administrators, and obligors, including ensuring all costs incurred are properly recorded, reviewing journal entries and review of monthly entity financial results
  • Prepare financial reviews for client portfolio, preparing and/or reviewing journal entries, and providing analysis and insights on sales trends to Management
  • Provide client relationship support and engagement including monthly surplus disbursements and other trust reimbursements.
  • Perform balance sheet account reconciliation and assist Manager with resolution of problem accounts and/or reconciling items.
  • Assist in the development and reporting of relevant KPIs and metrics to optimize the performance and success of the team
  • Continued focus on improving system efficiencies and business practices
  • Establish and maintain robust internal controls and governance to uphold operational effectiveness.
  • Assist in the facilitation of seamless collaboration with auditors, both internal and external, ensuring timely and comprehensive responses to requests.
  • Make recommendations for changes as needed and ensure that company policies and procedures are followed and establish the proper techniques to discover and prevent fraud
