About The Position

Lima One Capital is seeking a detail-oriented Senior Accountant I to own key pieces of their monthly close, financial reporting, and reconciliation work in a fast-paced, high-volume real estate lending environment. The role will utilize a modern ERP (Campfire) and AI-powered tools such as Claude and Shortcut to automate repetitive accounting workflows. The Senior Accountant I will partner directly with the Accounting Manager, Accounts Payable, and external auditors. Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting
  • 5+ years of experience in accounting
  • Moderate to advance level of Excel knowledge
  • Ability to work in a challenging and rewarding environment that provides great avenues for personal development
  • Strong organizational skills with proven ability to manage multiple priorities and meet strict close deadlines
  • Possess a mindset for perpetual process improvement and efficiency

Nice To Haves

  • Experience at a high-volume mortgage loan originator or servicer is preferred but not required
  • Experience with accounting ERP systems and familiarity with Campfire, Snowflake, Tableau, or AI-assisted tools (Claude, Shortcut) a strong plus
  • experience working in a SOX-compliant environment preferred

Responsibilities

  • Own assigned areas of the month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close, ensuring tasks are completed accurately and on time
  • Utilize Campfire ERP to process transactions, maintain the general ledger, and execute close activities
  • Prepare internal and external financial reports, ensuring accuracy and completeness of data
  • Leverage AI tools including Claude and Shortcut to draft reports, analyze data, and automate repetitive tasks, freeing capacity for higher-value analysis
  • Properly record business transactions for loan funding and the sale of all products
  • Review bank accounts daily for loan funding and sale transactions
  • Reconcile monthly bank and loan account balances
  • Maintain supporting schedules and balance sheet account reconciliations
  • Partner with Accounts Payable on vendor accruals and cutoff testing
  • Provide information to auditors and tax preparers for year-end reports and filings
  • Maintain compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley requirements
  • Review Staff Accountant processes and journal entries, providing coaching and feedback
  • Contribute to process improvement and automation initiatives across the Accounting team
