About The Position

This role involves reviewing financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, statements of changes, cash flows, schedules of investments, and footnote disclosures. The position requires an understanding of hedge funds and private equity funds, including their legal structure, investment objectives, and fee structures. Key responsibilities include responding to client inquiries, ensuring accurate and timely completion of financial statements, and staying updated on job knowledge through continuous learning and professional development. The role also involves assisting in training new team members, coordinating special projects, managing client expectations, and overseeing deliverable deadlines.

Requirements

  • Minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or related field
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Ability to multitask, time management, attention to detail, planning, and problem-solving skills required
  • Ability to communicate and interact professionally and effectively through written and oral communication with current and potential clients
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle/manage multiple team and individual priorities and deadlines
  • Sound knowledge of accounting principles, methods, procedures, internal controls with the ability to exercise good judgement in selecting and interpreting information
  • Excellent client service skills with an aptitude to understand the clients’ business and maintain strong client relationships

Nice To Haves

  • 2 – 5+ years’ (relevant) experience in Accounting, Finance or related field preferred
  • Advanced degree (MBA or MSA) in Accounting or related field strongly preferred
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license is strongly preferred
  • knowledge of Investran or other partnership accounting software a plus

Responsibilities

  • Review financial statements including balance sheet, income statement, statement of changes, cash flows, schedule of investments and footnote disclosures including financial highlights
  • Understanding of hedge funds and private equity funds under administration (legal structure, investment objective, fee structure, etc.)
  • Timely response to client inquiries, as required
  • Ensure timely and accurate completion of financial statements
  • Continually updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; internal company and team trainings; maintains personal networks; participates in professional development opportunities
  • Assist in the development and training of new team members as required
  • Coordination and completion of special projects as directed by the client requests and as directed by management
  • Manage client’s expectations and oversee deliverable deadlines
