About The Position

ATCO Structures & Logistics is seeking a Senior Accountant, Financial Reporting, to join their team on a full-time permanent basis. This role involves analyzing, forecasting, and preparing financial reports, and offers an opportunity to work with a team both locally and globally.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field
  • Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) designation is required
  • 3+ years of progressive accounting or financial reporting experience
  • Strong knowledge of IFRS and financial statement preparation
  • Experience working with auditors and external stakeholders
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel; experience with ERP systems (e.g. Oracle, NetSuite)
  • Industry experience in manufacturing or related fields
  • Experience with consolidation, foreign operations and complex ownership structures
  • Exposure to regulatory filings or public company reporting

Responsibilities

  • Assist the Manager, Financial Reporting in the preparation of quarterly and annual financial statements in accordance with IFRS
  • Prepare monthly reporting packages, audit packages and undertake consolidation activities
  • Research and provide recommendation for appropriate IFRS treatments of unique or complicated transactions as they arise
  • Staying current in the profession and up to date with best practices
  • Support external reporting requirements, including MD&A and note disclosures
  • Prepare working papers and reconciliations to support consolidated financial statements
  • Assist with period-end activities, including consolidation and elimination adjustments, reconciliations, and variance analysis
  • Work closely with Controllers of each business unit on providing timely reporting
  • Review monthly financial results against forecast and KPIs for accuracy and completeness
  • Review non-financial metrics within business units and provide insight into performance and identify opportunities for improved profitability
  • Collaborate with internal teams to gather financial information and resolve discrepancies
  • Work closely with the internal and external auditors on quarterly and year-end audit requests
  • Maintain and improve financial reporting processes, controls, and documentation
  • Participate in finance system improvement initiatives for Oracle ERP and EPM
  • Consolidate the monthly earnings and cash forecasts for all business units
  • Provide analysis of monthly forecast movements to senior management
  • Working with the Controller to consolidate and review annual earnings, cash and capital budgets for all business units
  • Support the goals and objectives of the business units by developing and delivering materials used for forecasting and budgeting
