About The Position

Moneycorp is seeking a Senior Accountant - Financial Controls to support the financial management and control environment of its U.S. pre-launch banking organization. The role will assist with financial reporting, month-end close, financial controls, statutory reporting, audit support, regulatory reporting activities, and the build-out of the treasury function. In addition, this position will help establish and enhance finance and treasury processes, controls, and infrastructure to support a de novo banking institution. This is a full-time permanent position operating on a hybrid working model from our office in Stamford.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or equivalent professional accounting qualification preferred.
  • 5+ years of accounting, financial reporting, or financial controls experience.
  • Banking, financial services, or other regulated industry experience.
  • Solid knowledge of US GAAP, financial reporting, and internal controls.
  • Experience preparing financial statements and supporting audits.
  • Strong Excel skills and analytical capabilities.

  • Experience building or enhancing finance processes within a growing organization preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Support month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes.
  • Prepare management accounts, financial statements, and supporting financial analysis for review.
  • Perform balance sheet reconciliations and help ensure the integrity of financial reporting.
  • Support external audits, statutory reporting, and regulatory reporting requirements.
  • Maintain internal controls and accounting policies in compliance with US GAAP, escalating issues as appropriate.
  • Partner with Treasury, Operations, Risk, Compliance, and business stakeholders to improve reporting and operational effectiveness.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of finance and treasury processes, controls, and procedures to support a de novo banking organization.
  • Assist with finance systems implementation, process automation, and reporting infrastructure.
  • Support new product launches, business growth initiatives, and regulatory readiness efforts.
  • Contribute to the build-out of scalable, best-in-class finance and treasury functions.
