About The Position

The Senior Accountant will primarily support the Global Fixed Asset & Lease Accounting function, including fixed asset accounting, financial close activities, reconciliations, reporting, and analysis. The role will partner closely with plant operations, engineering, finance, and accounting teams to ensure accurate accounting for capital investments and related transactions. Beyond fixed asset responsibilities, this position will regularly support Corporate Accounting leaders across multiple functions, contributing to general ledger accounting, financial reporting, process improvement initiatives, and special projects. This unique cross-functional role provides meaningful exposure to senior leadership, enterprise-wide initiatives, system enhancements, and opportunities to drive process efficiencies through automation and continuous improvement. The role can have travel up to 10% of the time, ad hoc basis with flexibility.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting
  • 2–5+ years of relevant experience (public accounting and/or industry)
  • Strong understanding of general ledger accounting and US GAAP
  • Strong understanding of ASC 842 & fixed asset accounting transactions
  • Experience with ERP systems (JDE or SAP is a plus) and Blackline
  • Strong Excel skills (pivot tables, lookups, etc.)

Responsibilities

  • Partner with plant engineering, operations, and finance teams to account for capital projects, fixed asset transactions, and related general ledger activities.
  • Execute fixed asset accounting processes, including asset capitalization, transfers, retirements, depreciation, and construction-in-progress (CIP) monitoring.
  • Support lease accounting activities and related journal entries, reconciliations, and reporting requirements.
  • Prepare and record journal entries and accruals in line with US GAAP as well as the Company’s internal policies and internal control framework.
  • Support the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes.
  • Perform account reconciliations, investigate variances, and resolve outstanding reconciling items.
  • Analyze financial results and account fluctuations to identify key drivers and ensure accuracy of financial reporting.
  • Help maintain the accuracy, completeness, and integrity of the Fixed Asset, Lease, and assigned General Ledger accounts.
  • Support internal and external audit requests by preparing schedules, analyses, and supporting documentation.
  • Compile and analyze financial data to support business decisions and management reporting.
  • Prepare ad hoc analyses and respond to information requests from finance and operational leadership.
  • Assist with reporting related to capital expenditures, fixed assets, and assigned balance sheet accounts.
  • Identify opportunities to enhance efficiency, strengthen controls, and improve accounting processes.
  • Leverage automation, AI tools, and technology solutions to streamline accounting and reporting activities.
  • Support ERP implementations, system enhancements, and process integration initiatives impacting fixed asset, lease, and general accounting processes.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve data quality, reporting accuracy, and operational effectiveness.
