About The Position

As a Senior Accountant, Corporate Accounting, you’ll be part of our Corporate Accounting team working as a hybrid employee. You’ll get to identify opportunities to streamline accounting data and processes and work cross functionally to design and implement changes. You will be responsible for the month end, quarter end and year end close processes for Corporate related functions (i.e. Derivatives, Debt, Retirement Plans, Equity, Prepaid Expenses, Self-funded reserves, etc.). This includes preparing and posting journal entries, understanding the technical accounting supporting journal entries, general ledger reconciliation, and financial statement analysis. You will actively engage business leaders and various corporate and business departments to drive efficiency in accounting close and resolve issues. You will also coordinate, review, and prepare schedules for internal and external auditors, use professional accounting concepts and internal company policies to solve complex accounting issues, and coordinate with Businesses & IT to enhance the General Accounting system(s). Additionally, you will assist non-financial departments with reporting and accounting issues, participate in financial projects and initiatives, and provide guidance and support to team members to help improve performance and develop technical competencies. You will also assist with accounting policy or procedure changes, communication needs, etc.

Requirements

  • BS in Accounting required
  • CPA
  • 3-4 years of progressive accounting experience in public accounting firm or equivalent industry experience
  • Solid technical skills and ability to analyze new transactions
  • Strong time management skills and able to work through roadblocks to meet commitments timely
  • Excellent written and interpersonal communications, should be able to effectively collaborate and interact with others
  • Self-motivated and able to work on cross functional teams
  • Innovated team player that challenges current processes

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with SAP and Hyperion (Enterprise/HFM) systems preferred
