About The Position

BDO's GTA Audit Practice is seeking a Senior Accountant to join their team. This role offers flexibility to work from any of their three offices: Toronto, Oakville, or Markham. The Senior Accountant will lead and conduct audit and review engagements, prepare working papers and financial statements according to regulatory and firm standards. They will also coordinate year-end assurance engagements for clients across various industries, provide supporting information for corporate tax filings, and apply knowledge of accounting frameworks such as ASPE, ASNPO, IFRS, and US GAAP. A key aspect of the role involves building and maintaining strong client relationships, supporting business development, and communicating effectively with engagement team members.

Requirements

Successfully completed CPA designation.
Minimum of 3 years of experience in external audit within the public accounting industry.
Working knowledge of IFRS and/or US GAAP standards.
Prioritize teamwork, client service, and delivering high-quality, detailed work.
Exhibit strong problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

Lead and conduct audit and review engagements, preparing working papers and financial statements in accordance with regulatory and firm standards.
Coordinate year-end assurance engagements for clients across a range of industries, including supporting information for corporate tax filings (prepared by the tax team).
Apply working knowledge of accounting frameworks such as ASPE, ASNPO, IFRS, and US GAAP, as appropriate to client needs.
Build and maintain positive client relationships by responding promptly to requests and delivering high-quality service.
Support business development efforts by identifying opportunities to expand services with existing clients.
Communicate regularly with engagement team members to provide progress updates and raise issues proactively.
