About The Position

BDO's Barrie office is seeking a Senior Accountant to join their Assurance team. This is a replacement role where the successful candidate will be responsible for handling audit tasks independently or within a team, preparing year-end engagements for clients across various industries, and performing audits in accordance with regulatory standards. The role involves building strong client relationships, responding to client needs, and communicating progress and issues with team members. Additionally, the Senior Accountant will be involved in training staff and contributing to their professional development.

Requirements

  • Completed CPA designation or in the process of completion
  • 2-3 years of audit experience in the public accounting industry
  • Enjoy working with high growth and dynamic private and publicly-listed enterprises
  • Keen to develop further knowledge about the business, assurance and regulatory requirements of publicly-listed entities and private businesses
  • Value teamwork, client service, and quality in detailed work
  • Display strong problem solving, analytical, and communication skills

Responsibilities

  • Effectively and efficiently handle audit tasks independently or within a team environment
  • Efficiently prepare year-end engagements for your clients in a variety of industries
  • Perform audits on a variety of organizations, prepare working papers and financial statements per regulatory standards
  • Build positive working relationships with clients and effectively respond to request and suggestions
  • Effectively communicate with team members regarding progress updates and issues on an ongoing basis
  • Engage in training staff and invest in the professional development of your team
