About The Position

Energy Talent Search is working with a national accounting advisory firm seeking experienced CPAs who are ready to move beyond the traditional public accounting and audit cycle. This opportunity offers many of the things experienced public accounting professionals are looking for in their next move: Average 40–45-hour workweeks throughout the year, Projects averaging approximately seven months, providing greater client and project variety, Performance bonuses paid throughout the year — typically 14 bonus opportunities annually, Direct exposure to CFOs and senior finance leadership, High-impact project work with Fortune 1000 and other large organizations, Broader experience for professionals ultimately interested in senior finance leadership or becoming a CFO. This is not a move into traditional corporate accounting, and it is not another recurring audit track. It is a client-facing advisory opportunity where you will work directly with CFOs, senior finance leaders, and accounting teams on complex financial and strategic initiatives. One of the biggest differences is the variety. Rather than spending years working with the same client and repeating the same audit cycle, projects average approximately seven months. This provides exposure to different organizations, industries, finance teams, and business challenges. In this role, you will apply your background in U.S. GAAP, technical accounting, financial reporting, and accounting research while supporting initiatives such as: IPO readiness and public company preparation, including SEC reporting, M&A transactions, purchase accounting, and post-deal integration, Carve-outs and spin-offs, Technical GAAP accounting analysis and implementation, Financial statement preparation and complex reporting matters, Accounting policy development and documentation, Strategic finance and accounting transformation projects, Other complex, project-based accounting and finance initiatives. You will provide hands-on accounting advisory services within client environments rather than performing traditional recurring audit procedures. The variety of projects provides exposure to how different CFOs and finance organizations operate and an opportunity to develop a much broader business and leadership perspective. For professionals who ultimately want to move into senior finance leadership or become a CFO, this provides an opportunity to build experience across multiple organizations and complex business situations rather than remaining primarily focused on traditional audit work.
