About The Position

The Senior Account Manager will focus on driving sales through solution-oriented and expert consulting. Your goal will be to drive revenue growth, acquire new projects and generate product sales from new and existing clients in the Medical Device and pharmaceutical industry. This role requires an entrepreneurial and results-oriented professional who can identify emerging opportunities where VirtaMed’s simulations, digital twin, and AI training technologies deliver measurable value in sales enablement, professional education, and marketing contexts. You will be responsible for aspects of creating, generating and maintaining business relationships with medical device and pharmaceutical companies where simulation training can be of value. You will identify and prioritize medical device and pharma companies as potential key accounts for VirtaMed. You will maintain an understanding of market developments and requirements for medical device companies and be familiar with their company structures and decision-making paths. You will be able to pinpoint how VirtaMed’s custom simulation solutions can meet their needs for professional education and training. You will work closely with internal management and product development to create proposed solutions. You will collaborate closely with marketing, product development, and R&D teams to deliver customized simulation solutions that strengthen customers’ commercial impact and clinical credibility.

Requirements

  • 5-10 years of experience in account management or sales within medical device, pharma, or simulation-related industries.
  • Proven success in selling complex B2B solutions to OEMs through direct outreach and trade show engagements.
  • Strong understanding of training, education, and marketing needs in medtech and life sciences.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills across multiple stakeholder levels.
  • Self-motivated, strategic, and entrepreneurial mindset with a passion for building new relationships.
  • Willingness to travel frequently (up to 40–50%) for customer visits, trade shows, and industry events.
  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in business, engineering or related medical field.

  • Experience working for a medical device company in Marketing, Professional Education or Sales is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Have a minimum of 5 years’ sales experience in the following areas: Medical Device and Pharma companies as a supplier or partner.
  • Experience selling into and navigating Fortune 500 companies.
  • New business development in medical device companies; experience in prospecting, opportunity identification, and account-based selling.
  • Contracting experience and SOW creation.
  • Identify, qualify, and convert new business opportunities within assigned medtech and pharma OEM segments.
  • Consultative selling, creating value-based custom solutions for customers with longer sales cycles.
  • Proven track record of sales attainment, revenue growth, and account development.
  • History of maintaining existing clients in a targeted manner, building up new contacts into significant business relationships.
  • Applied knowledge and experience in the training of medical professionals.
  • Experience working for a medical device company in Marketing, Professional Education or Sales is a plus.
  • Develop and execute OEM-focused sales strategies targeting education, training, and marketing departments.
  • Represent VirtaMed at industry trade shows and professional congresses, driving engagement and lead generation.
  • Build strong relationships with decision-makers in training, marketing, and commercial excellence functions.
  • Work cross-functionally with marketing and R&D to develop tailored simulation and digital solutions.
  • Maintain an in-depth understanding of industry trends, competitive dynamics, and product positioning.
  • Present complex solutions in a clear, value-driven, and consultative manner to executives and technical teams.
  • Drive customer proposals, demos, and pilots that clearly articulate VirtaMed’s value proposition.
  • Support VirtaMed’s growth strategy by contributing to pipeline development, forecasting, and market expansion plans.
  • Act as a brand ambassador for VirtaMed, ensuring consistent representation and messaging across all channels.
  • Collaborate with marketing to create impactful sales materials and campaigns targeting specific OEM segments.
  • Participate in post-trade show follow-ups, lead nurturing, and continuous prospect engagement.
