About The Position

We are seeking a skilled Senior Account Manager to join our dynamic Surety team in Houston, TX. This role involves serving as the primary client contact for day-to-day bonding questions, building strong relationships with business partners and carriers, and ensuring data quality in various systems. The Senior Account Manager will also communicate with clients and underwriters, handle accounting and invoice issues, oversee Account Associate work, and assist in creating proposals and presentations. Responsibilities include compiling and approving submissions, responding to underwriter inquiries, and reviewing client financial documents. The role requires conducting in-depth data analyses and maintaining knowledge of carrier underwriting appetites to recommend appropriate markets. Additional responsibilities may be required.

Requirements

• Strong technical property and casualty knowledge
• Minimum of 5 years of industry experience
• Proven ability to present and clearly explain information to clients
• Proven ability to clearly explain problems/concerns to co-workers, supervisors and/or agency principals and suggest/recommend solutions
• Data entry experience as well as excellent interpersonal skills
• Competence in Microsoft Office tools such as Word, Excel, and Adobe
• Task and detail oriented
• Team player with demonstrated professional communication and organizational skills

Nice To Haves

• High school diploma or equivalent; College degree preferred
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation required
• Ability to travel as required
• Construction brokerage experience preferred
• Training and people management experience (2 to 3 direct reports) preferred

Responsibilities

• Serve as primary client contact for day-to-day bonding questions
• Build and promote strong relationships with business partners, carriers and all stakeholders vested in the process
• Quality control data in Epic, Erlon, and OneDrive including client data, surety contacts, bonds, rates, commissions
• Communicate with clients and underwriters through the request process, including the provision of proper underwriting materials
• Responds to accounting and invoice issues with appropriate adjustments/corrections within prescribed timelines
• Oversee Account Associate work for accuracy and quality
• Assist in creating proposals and presentations
• Compile and/or approve complete and accurate submissions and deliver to underwriters; Provide timely responses to underwriter submission inquiries
• Request and review client documents such as financial statements, work-in-progress, aging of receivables schedules
• Conduct in-depth data analyses
• Maintain knowledge of carrier underwriting appetites and contacts and recommend appropriate markets for client programs
