About The Position

The Senior Account Executive role involves working closely with the senior team to manage client accounts, execute tactics, and produce deliverables. This position offers the opportunity to learn account management from senior team members, focusing on overall account success, client relationships, service quality, and coaching junior team members. Senior Account Executives are expected to be strategic thinkers, contributing high-impact ideas, and mentoring junior staff. They will drive media coverage, write compelling content, and actively seek opportunities for personal and professional growth. This is a hybrid position based in either the Boston or Richmond office, requiring 3 remote days and 2 in-office days per week.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of Public Relations, Marketing, Communications experience, or related industry.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, Journalism, English or related area of study.
  • Superb organizational, project and time management skills to meet deadlines.
  • Strong ability to write clearly and concisely.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills to effectively articulate ideas to clients, colleagues and team members.
  • Passion for creating excellent high-quality deliverables.
  • Strong spirit of collaboration, highly self-motivated and results-driven with a can-do attitude.
  • 1+ years mentoring experience.
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication, project management and time management.
  • Excellent interpersonal and client service skills.
  • Organized with the ability to focus while working off-site.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and to delegate them when appropriate.
  • Ability to function well in a high-paced and at times stressful environment.
  • Understanding of social community management and best practices and platforms.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.

  • Previous experience in B2B, high-tech sector, agency or corporate.

Responsibilities

  • Manage day-to-day operations of client accounts, execute tactics, and produce deliverables.
  • Own the client relationship, ensuring high-quality service and results.
  • Coach and train junior team members.
  • Contribute high-impact ideas to plans and programs.
  • Drive media coverage for clients and write compelling content.
  • Participate in agency marketing and social media efforts.
  • Actively seek opportunities to expand skills, thinking, and professional acumen.
  • Grow and solidify strong relationships with business, technology, broadcast, and influencer media and analysts.
  • Identify and work with reporters and influencers to secure coverage on behalf of clients.
  • Coach junior team members in building their media relations skills.
  • Develop a full range of written materials including client correspondence, press releases, media pitches, briefing sheets, and speaking abstracts.
  • Review junior team members’ work to ensure client readiness.
  • Gain a comprehensive understanding of the high-tech industry and clients’ businesses to provide solid PR counsel and results.
  • Provide quality counsel to clients.
  • Manage client meetings and ensure materials for discussion are client-ready.
  • Review client measurement presentations.
  • Build trust with client points of contact and teams.
  • Demonstrate professional conduct and demeanor.
  • Analyze, contextualize, and frame information from various sources for strategic recommendations.
  • Support programs and projects from kickoff through goal achievement.
  • Manage client calls and meetings with little supervision.
