Senior Account Executive - Tax Operations

AmpliworkRemote, OR, OR
$0 - $170,000Hybrid

About The Position

Ampliwork is seeking a Senior Account Executive to focus on Tax Operations. The company's mission is to transform how work gets done through Human + AI collaboration, designing and deploying AI agents to handle repetitive enterprise tasks. This role is crucial for helping organizations achieve significant improvements in productivity and customer value by moving beyond incremental improvements to a step-change in performance. Ampliwork is building for teams who are bold, curious, accountable, and caring, aiming to help every customer unlock 10x value and build a trusted AI workforce platform. The specific mission for this role is to build and close a pipeline of mid-market and enterprise tax buyers ready to adopt autonomous AI agents for tax operations. This includes tasks like indirect tax determination, e-invoicing, and transfer-pricing data preparation. The role is a 'builder's seat' where the individual will own the end-to-end sales cycle, including prospecting, discovery, demo orchestration, POC scoping, and closing deals. The AE will also contribute to shaping the tax go-to-market strategy, partner co-sell initiatives, and the product roadmap.

Requirements

  • 5–10 years of quota-carrying enterprise software sales experience.
  • At least three years of experience selling tax-automation, tax-compliance, or tax-provision software.
  • Background at companies such as Vertex, Avalara, Thomson Reuters ONESOURCE, Sovos, Wolters Kluwer CCH, Bloomberg Tax, Anrok, TaxJar, TaxBit, or Stripe Tax.
  • Proven track record of closing six-figure Annual Contract Value (ACV) deals with corporate tax, finance, and IT buyers in mid-market and enterprise accounts.
  • Deep familiarity with corporate tax workflows, including direct tax, indirect tax/VAT, transfer pricing, provision, compliance, and e-invoicing.
  • Technical fluency: ability to demo software, discuss ERP and tax-engine integrations credibly, and engage technical evaluators without relying solely on a Sales Engineer.
  • Strong sales discipline: proficiency in MEDDIC/MEDDPICC, multi-threaded selling, executive-level deal shaping, and clean forecasting.
  • High energy and curiosity, with an interest in AI and the future of the tax function.
  • Based in Boston, New York, or another top Northeast US city.
  • Willingness to travel approximately 25% to customers, partners, and industry events.

Nice To Haves

  • The role is roughly 60% sales and 40% technical, requiring a closer who is genuinely fluent in tax automation, not just a relationship seller or a sales engineer.
  • Ability to run a discovery call without a Sales Engineer and still leave the prospect informed.

Responsibilities

  • Own the full sales cycle for tax-focused AI agent solutions, from outbound prospecting through closed-won.
  • Build pipeline through outbound efforts, partner co-sell with global consulting partners, and qualified inbound leads.
  • Run discovery and demos with tax leaders, identifying high-impact agent use cases for each account.
  • Partner with Pre-Sales and Product teams to scope agent deployments and Proof of Concepts (POCs) that lead to wins.
  • Implement a 'land and expand' strategy within named accounts, viewing the initial close as the beginning of a long-term relationship.
  • Provide market feedback to the tax agent roadmap to ensure product development aligns with buyer needs.
  • Represent Ampliwork at industry events such as TEI, COST, Avalara CRUSH, Bloomberg Tax, and TaxJar/Sovos events.

Benefits

  • Base salary up to $170,000 USD, commensurate with experience.
  • Uncapped variable compensation with accelerators above quota.
  • Meaningful equity grant in Ampliforce Inc.
  • Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision coverage.
  • 401(k) plan.
  • Generous PTO.
  • Remote-flexible work within the Northeast US.
