About The Position

As a Process Technician, you'll be responsible for preparing wafers for experimentation, operating reactors to perform thin film processes, and using scanning electron microscopes for analyses and imaging. You'll record process conditions and experimental observations, perform routine maintenance procedures, and evaluate wafers and thin films. Process Technicians are tasked with preparing cross-section samples for analysis, identifying patterns of interest in imaging, and operating laboratory process equipment and instrumentation. Your expertise in troubleshooting, equipment maintenance, and process optimization drives higher levels of productivity, quality, and efficiency in our manufacturing processes. The Process Technician III supports the Wet Lab and Metrology Lab to enable reliable wafer processing and on-wafer characterization for R&D, applications development, customer demonstrations, and field escalations. The technician is responsible for executing assigned work independently once trained, communicates status and risks proactively, and is accountable for safety, data integrity, tool performance, and continuous improvement.

Requirements

  • Associate degree, High School diploma, or GED.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience working in a semiconductor cleanroom environment.
  • Hands‑on experience with wet chemical processing and/or wafer metrology.
  • Working knowledge of SPC principles and data interpretation.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while collaborating effectively in a team environment.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to clearly escalate concerns and status to engineers and management.
  • Ability to work in a cleanroom environment for extended periods with full gowning and PPE in the wet lab.
  • Ability to lift to 50 lbs

Nice To Haves

  • Experience operating ThermaWave, RS100.
  • Familiarity with wet chemistries, implant characterization, film measurement techniques.
  • Demonstrated ownership of tool performance, uptime, and data quality.
  • Experience supporting R&D, engineering development, or customer demo environments.

Responsibilities

  • Operate wet etch and metrology equipment such as ThermaWave, Sheet Resistance Measurement Tool, and Ellipsometer under the guidance of process engineers.
  • For Wet lab, prepare chemistries with accurate chemical ratio through titration monitoring and track wastewater/neutralization per permits.
  • Strictly follow the safety protocols of cleanroom and wet lab practices.
  • Maintain SOPs/Work instruction documentation, SPC tracking charts, maintenance logs.
  • Maintain tool uptime of ≥90% through scheduled PM.
  • Report the tool operation issue to the maintenance team for tool recovery and repair.
  • Ensure that the data obtained from metrology equipment is accurate through SPC monitoring.
  • Analyze/report results using Microsoft Office tools for any assigned technical projects assigned along with the process engineering team.
  • Manage chemical inventory and other lab consumables.
  • Collaborate effectively with engineers, vendors, and customers.
