The role is primarily based in Blackfoot but may involve driving to Shelley, Idaho Falls, and Rexburg locations. Requirements

  • Possess a valid CDL license meeting all requirements of section three (code of federal regulations) qualification of drivers (49 CFR part 391) or satisfactorily complete all training programs and processes, all the steps of driver certification, and qualify and satisfactorily complete all phases of CDL process if job awarded by bid.
  • Carry on person current CDL and medical examiners certificate.
  • Pass an annual driving record review.
  • Be reasonably insurable by BAF.
  • Maintain an acceptable, current CDL, driving record, insurance risk, and be drug and alcohol-free to continue employment.
  • Possess good math skills, with an ability to compute basic math equations.
  • Effectively read, write, and speak English.
  • Be able to speak clearly and comprehend written instructions and write comprehensively.
  • Effectively apply training along with common sense for day-to-day activities and challenges, including all BAF policies, safety practices, and procedures.

Nice To Haves

  • 12th grade or equivalent or current truck driver bid holder or 2 provable years of over the road experience.

Responsibilities

  • Operate all BAF trucks from point A to point B as directed.
  • Safely and legally meet all legal obligations as a current licensed CDL Class A driver.
  • Haul all products and materials as needed for BAF.
  • Operate the yard dog and move trailers around the facility in Shelley.
  • Legally and safely operate BAF vehicles, remaining drug and alcohol-free and adhering to all related regulations and testing requirements.
  • Clean all trailers taken to the plant for loading purposes and document with a container and loading checklist.
  • Ensure all loads traveling from the plant or warehouse have bills of lading.
  • Fill out a yearly motor vehicle drivers certification of violations form.
  • Perform driver maintenance, including greasing the 5th wheel, adjusting brakes, checking oil and fluids, and tires.
  • Complete a daily vehicle inspection report.
  • Follow the SAFE philosophy by talking with employees observed working unsafely to correct behavior and explain safe practices.
  • Participate in Safe Observations.
  • Protect self, others, and customers by following safe work practices, GMP's, and Sanitation Guidelines.
  • Uphold the principles of SQF.
  • Immediately report any food safety, food quality, or plant security issues to management.
