About The Position

Join HII as we keep the world's most powerful Navy afloat! We are seeking a Program Manager for the Surface Engineering Maintenance Assist Team (SEMAT) tasks to include HM&E and Combat Systems. The Program Manager will be responsible for interfacing with customers, managing schedule, costs (Estimate at Completion (EAC) and Estimate to Completion (ETC), and technical performance. The selected candidate will prepare deliverables, manage subcontractor employees for prime contractor, and provide work direction to staff. Also, this person will provide a variety of complicated and non-routine tasks and reports. Schedules, reports and briefs customers and senior management. This is a full-time position located in San Diego, CA.

Requirements

  • Must have experience managing costs, schedules, and technical performance on government contracts.
  • Must have experience operating, maintaining, and supervising HM&E and/or combat systems equipment onboard U.S. Navy surface ships.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret Security Clearance.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain base access.
  • 4 years relevant progressive experience with Bachelors in related field; 2 years relevant progressive experience with Masters in related field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 8 years relevant progressive experience.

Nice To Haves

  • Experienced Program managers preferred.
  • A current, valid DoD Secret Security Clearance or higher.
  • Experience as a Combat Systems surface ships Program Manager for Navy contracts and delivery orders.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare monthly customer deliverables, financial reports, and communicate regularly with the Technical Advisor (TA) and Contracting Officer Representatives (COR) for each program.
  • Responsible for administering contract and task order Statements of Work (SOWs) and ensuring compliance with applicable Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR) related to customer contracts.
  • Be the Hiring manager for all assigned programs to include: generating new job requisitions, screening job candidates, conducting job interviews, and recommending candidates for hire.
