About The Position

Opportunity to work with new soldiers entering the Ordnance Corps. Become an instructor at the US Army Ordnance School working for an engaged and responsive small business. Provide academic instruction on various automotive applications consisting of repairs on track, hydraulics, diesel engine, drive train, brakes, all Turret functions, maintenance and repair, etc. Review and update academic and doctrinal publications; and maintain vehicles/equipment supported by academic instruction.

Requirements

  • Self-Propelled Artillery Systems Maintainer (91P) qualification
  • Experience in automotive applications including repairs on track, hydraulics, diesel engine, drive train, brakes, and turret functions
  • Ability to review and update academic and doctrinal publications
  • Proficiency in maintaining vehicles/equipment
  • Experience in conducting classroom/laboratory conferences, discussions, demonstrations, and practical exercises
  • Familiarity with course material, POI, technical manuals, and student workbooks
  • Experience in conducting student critiques
  • Ability to review and provide changes to lesson plans
  • Experience in instructional preparation and testing material
  • Experience serving as an Assistant Instructor
  • Ability to provide feedback at the end of instruction blocks
  • Experience in updating technical content of lesson material
  • Subject matter expert (SME) experience in developing revisions of POIs, Lesson Plans, and Training Support Packages
  • Experience in providing remediation training
  • Ability to maintain classrooms by re-configuring/setting up classroom furnishings
  • Experience sorting and maintaining training aides and equipment
  • Ability to stock training materials and equipment
  • Experience assisting with outdoor training site maintenance

Responsibilities

  • Provide academic instruction to conduct classroom/laboratory conferences, discussions, demonstrations, and practical exercises in accordance with course material, POI, technical manuals, and student workbooks
  • Conduct student critiques
  • Review and provide pen and ink changes to lesson plans, cross-train, arrange and engage in instructional preparation and testing material, serve as an Assistant Instructor in classes
  • Provide feedback at the end of the block of instruction
  • Assist in updating technical content of lesson material
  • Participate as a subject matter expert (SME) in developing revisions of the POIs, Lesson Plans and Training Support Packages
  • Provide remediation training, maintain classrooms by re-configuring/setting up classroom furnishings, sort and maintain training aides and equipment, stock training materials and equipment, and/or assist with outdoor training site maintenance
