About The Position

The Self Parking Attendant is responsible for assisting in the self-parking area and ensuring guests have a seamless and positive parking experience. This position involves providing excellent customer service, assisting guests with parking procedures, and maintaining the organization and cleanliness of the self-parking facility.

Requirements

  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Proven experience in a similar guest service role within a luxury hotel, high-end resort, or upscale establishment
  • Cash handling experience and the ability to manage transactions accurately
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a polished and professional demeanor
  • Customer-centric mindset with a passion for delivering exceptional and personalized guest experiences
  • Proficiency in using valet parking systems
  • Must be willing and able to work a flexible schedule to include nights, holidays, and weekends
  • Work in a fast-paced, busy, and somewhat stressful environment
  • Ability to read and interpret documents in English, such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to read and communicate verbally in English.
  • Written communication skills in English may also be required.
  • Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
  • Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

Responsibilities

  • Welcome guests with a warm and friendly demeanor, providing assistance and guidance on parking procedures in the self-parking area
  • Direct and guide guests to available parking spaces, ensuring efficient use of parking areas
  • Accurately collect parking fees from guests, issue receipts, and maintain a secure cash handling process
  • Monitor the self-parking facility, ensuring cleanliness, safety, and proper functioning of equipment (e.g., ticket dispensers, payment machines)
  • Manage vehicular traffic to ensure smooth flow and prioritize pedestrian safety
  • Verify and process parking validations or discounts as per the property's policies
  • Provide information about parking rates, payment options, and any other relevant details to guests
  • Address guest concerns or issues related to parking with empathy and efficiency, finding timely resolutions or escalating matters to the Supervisor or relevant management
  • Maintain a professional appearance, wearing a well-maintained uniform and name tag
  • Foster positive guest relations by being approachable, courteous, and attentive to their parking needs
  • Temporary or permanent duties and responsibilities may be added to or modified as deemed necessary
