Assist individuals with brain injury, intellectual disabilities, and other neurological disabilities in achieving a challenging, stimulating, dignified life by serving as an advocate and liaison for and on behalf of individuals’ rights and benefits. Provide supervision, training, and assistance in accomplishing activities of daily living, which includes, but is not limited to, self-care skills, social skills, recreation skills, community skills, and domestic skills for a 51 year old male who is a very happy individual, enjoys having fun, and building connections. He is seeking a mentor to support in exploring and engaging within his community. He enjoys visiting the YMCA, local parks, and community events. A desired applicant is confident, outgoing, and able to assist with communication and social engagement. While he may be shy when meeting new people, he becomes more comfortable and outgoing as relationships develop.
